September 25, 2026 – Our Lady’s Message from Medjugorje
“Dear children! May this time be a time of prayer for peace. I am calling you to renew in your families the prayer of the Rosary for my intentions, so that I may be able to multiply your prayers and intercede for you before the Most High, [for Him] to heed your prayers and to give you peace. I am with you and like never before I pray for you and with you, my little children. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Ivan Dragićević’s reflections on the message of September 25, 2026.
This message begins with words that today sound almost like a plea:
“May this time be a time of prayer for peace."
Our Lady does not call us first to speak about unrest, to analyze wars and divisions, or to seek out those to blame. She calls us to pray.
Because the peace the world seeks must first begin in the human heart.
We may desire peace among nations, but if we cannot forgive within our own families, if there is no communication between spouses, if parents and children are estranged, if we have harbored anger toward someone for years—then we understand why Our Lady leads man back to his heart and his home.
The words "renew the prayer of the Rosary in your families" are particularly powerful.
She does not simply say: pray the Rosary. She says: renew it.
It is as if she asks us: Where has shared prayer gone from our families? When was the last time we knelt together? When did children last see their father and mother praying? When did we turn off the television, put aside our mobile phones, and give God twenty minutes of our family time?
The Rosary is not an escape from problems. It teaches us to navigate problems with God. This does not mean that every difficulty will vanish instantly, but rather that one is no longer alone in facing it.
And then comes one of the message’s most tender sentences: "so that I may multiply your prayers and intercede for you before the Most High."
Our prayer may be weak. Sometimes we pray while distracted. Sometimes we are tired. Sometimes we are at a loss for words. Yet, the message encourages us to begin nonetheless. Marian spirituality leads us directly to Christ: we entrust our humble prayers to the Mother, so that She may present them to God through her intercession.
And perhaps that is precisely the call of this message: do not wait for the world to change before you begin to pray. Begin to pray so that your own heart may change first.
Peace begins within me.
Peace begins in my family.
Peace begins with forgiveness.
Peace begins by returning to God.
The concluding words touch me deeply: "I am with you, and I pray for you and with you as never before, my dear children."
These are not words of distance, but of closeness. In a time when many feel insecure, lonely, or anxious about the future, the message speaks: you are not alone in prayer.
That is why I would like to present this message as a very concrete invitation:
Let us bring the Rosary back into our families.
Not tomorrow. Not when we have more time. Tonight.
Let us gather the family for at least one decade. Let us pray for peace. For those who suffer. For families that are divided. For children and young people. For the sick. For priests. For those who are far from God. And for the person whom we still find it hard to forgive.
For while we may not be able to stop all the wars in the world, we can stop one small war within our own hearts.
And that is precisely where peace begins.
Lord, through Mary’s intercession, make our families schools of prayer and peace. Give us the strength to forgive, the humility to kneel once again, and the faithfulness to take the Rosary in our hands. May the peace we receive from You reach our families, our loved ones, and the whole world through us. Amen.

Ova poruka započinje riječima koje danas zvuče gotovo kao vapaj: „Neka ovo vrijeme bude vrijeme molitve za mir.“ Gospa nas ne poziva najprije da govorimo o nemiru, da analiziramo ratove i podjele ili da tražimo krivce. Poziva nas da molimo.
Jer mir koji svijet traži mora najprije započeti u ljudskom srcu.
Možemo željeti mir među narodima, ali ako u vlastitoj obitelji ne možemo oprostiti, ako među supružnicima nema razgovora, ako su roditelji i djeca udaljeni, ako godinama nosimo ljutnju prema nekome — tada razumijemo zašto Gospa ponovno vodi čovjeka prema njegovu srcu i njegovu domu.
Posebno su snažne riječi: „obnovite u vašim obiteljima molitvu krunice“.
Ne kaže samo: molite krunicu. Kaže: obnovite.
Kao da nas pita: Gdje je nestala zajednička molitva iz naših obitelji? Kada smo posljednji put zajedno kleknuli? Kada su djeca posljednji put vidjela oca i majku kako mole? Kada smo ugasili televizor, odložili mobitele i dali Bogu dvadeset minuta našega obiteljskog vremena?
Krunica nije bijeg od problema. Ona nas uči prolaziti kroz probleme s Bogom. Ne znači da će svaka poteškoća odmah nestati, nego da čovjek više nije sam pred njom.
A zatim dolazi jedna od najnježnijih rečenica poruke: „da bih mogla umnožiti vaše molitve i zagovarati za vas pred Svevišnjim“.
Naša molitva možda je slaba. Ponekad molimo rastreseno. Ponekad smo umorni. Ponekad nemamo ni riječi. Ali poruka nas ohrabruje da ipak počnemo. Marijanska duhovnost upravo nas vodi prema Kristu: svoje siromašne molitve povjeravamo Majci da ih svojim zagovorom prinese Bogu.
I možda je upravo to poziv ove poruke: ne čekaj da se svijet promijeni da bi počeo moliti. Počni moliti da bi se najprije promijenilo tvoje srce.
Mir počinje u meni.
Mir počinje u mojoj obitelji.
Mir počinje oprostom.
Mir počinje povratkom Bogu.
Posebno me dotiču završne riječi: „S vama sam i kao nikad molim za vas i s vama, dječice moja.“
To nisu riječi udaljenosti, nego blizine. U vremenu kada se mnogi osjećaju nesigurno, usamljeno ili zabrinuto za budućnost, poruka govori: niste sami u molitvi.
Zato bih ovu poruku pretvorio u vrlo konkretan poziv:
Vratimo krunicu u naše obitelji.
Ne sutra. Ne kada budemo imali više vremena. Večeras.
Okupimo obitelj makar na jednu deseticu. Pomolimo se za mir. Za one koji pate. Za obitelji koje su podijeljene. Za djecu i mlade. Za bolesne. Za svećenike. Za one koji su daleko od Boga. I za čovjeka kojemu još uvijek teško opraštamo.
Jer možda ne možemo zaustaviti sve ratove svijeta, ali možemo zaustaviti jedan mali rat u vlastitom srcu.
I upravo ondje počinje mir.
Gospodine, po Marijinu zagovoru, učini naše obitelji školama molitve i mira. Daj nam snage oprostiti, poniznosti ponovno kleknuti i vjernosti uzeti krunicu u ruke. Neka mir koji od Tebe primamo preko nas dođe do naših obitelji, naših bližnjih i cijeloga svijeta. Amen.

DECREE
THE APOSTOLIC PENITENTIARY, with the purpose of increasing the piety of the faithful and the salvation of souls, by virtue of the faculties bestowed upon him in a most special way by our Most Holy Father in Christ Our Lord, POPE FRANCIS, BY DIVINE PROVIDENCE, attentively considering the recent petitions presented by His Excellency ALDO CAVALLI, Titular Archbishop of Vibo, Apostolic Visitor for the Parish of Saint James the Apostle in Medjugorje, of the Diocese of Mostar-Duvno, graciously grants a PLENARY INDULGENCE from the treasury of the Church's heavenly mercy, under the usual conditions (sacramental Confession, Eucharistic Communion, and prayer for the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff), to the faithful who are truly penitent and moved by charity, which they can obtain throughout the Ordinary JUBILEE YEAR OF 2025, and which they can also use as a prayer for the souls of the faithful in purgatory if they make a pilgrimage to the PARISH CHURCH OF ST. JAMES THE APOSTLE IN MEDJUGORJE and devoutly participate in the Jubilee rites there or at least dedicate appropriate time to pious prayers, including the Lord's Prayer, the Creed and the invocations of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The elderly, the infirm, and all those who for serious reasons cannot leave their homes, can likewise obtain the Plenary Indulgence, having conceived the intention of detachment from any sin and with the intention of fulfilling, as soon as they are able, the three usual conditions, if they spiritually unite themselves to the jubilee celebrations, offering their prayers, sufferings, or the inconveniences of their own lives to the merciful God.
Therefore, to facilitate access to divine forgiveness through the keys of the Church out of pastoral charity, this Penitentiary earnestly requests that priests endowed with appropriate faculties to hear confessions make themselves available with a prompt, generous, and merciful spirit for the celebration of Penance.
This decree is valid throughout the Ordinary Jubilee Year of 2025. No contrary provisions shall hinder its execution.
Given in Rome, at the Apostolic Penitentiary, on the 24th day of December, in the year of the Incarnation of the Lord 2024.
